Last night Sci-Tech Daresbury held a number of tours, to exhibit the diverse organisations that complete such innovative projects within the Daresbury site.

As part of the tour, the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) demonstrated a couple of previous Case Studies to show some of the fantastic projects previously completed to show how Virtual technologies can be used by and adopted to a range of diverse industries and companies.

Firstly we showcased our Bentley car where bently-demovisitors were eager to sit in the driving seat in one of the most sought after cars within British history. ‘Strive’ was a project which allowed for Bentley motors to not only identify issues prior to production, but to also decrease production time and improved build quality.

The second demonstration was of a huge virtual heart which we created for Alder Hey Hospital. The idea of the heart allows for specific data to be used to create an individual’s heart and those operating within the theatre, can inspect the patient’s part before operating. This can be extremely helpful, improving planning, decreasing time spent in theatre as well as reducing risks.
